Finding a good insurance plan in Germany as an expat can be tough; forget about finding the best. There are so many things to consider before taking insurance.

So, we did some digging for you. We checked the top rating agencies in Germany and examined what they consider when rating an insurance plan.

Today we are going to share with you the best plans as per the top rating agencies and what parameters they considered when rating them the best.

Best private health insurance policy per top rating agencies

We analyzed the ratings from six rating houses in Germany. Half of them analyzed the insurance plans, and the other half analyzed the insurance companies.

  • Franke Bornberg (Map Report)
  • IVFP (Institut für Vorsorge und Finanzplanung)
  • DFSI (Deutsches Finanz-Service Institut)

Each of the rating agencies considered several factors when analyzing the private health insurance plans in Germany. They even had minimum criteria that the private health insurance tariff must fulfill to achieve the top rating.

  • LVM (Rated best by Map-Report and IVFP)
  • Hallesche (Rated very good by IVFP and DFSI)

Here are the private health insurance plans rated best by Handelblatt, Focus Money, and Morgen & Morgen.

Conclusion

Hallesche and Signal Iduna received above-average ratings from all the rating agencies in Germany.

Conclusion

Three out of five rating agencies in Germany rate the legal insurance plans from the following companies among the best.
